Explore a Marrakech to Merzouga Desert tour in 3 days. On Day 1, journey through the High Atlas mountains, visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, and continue to the vibrant Dades Valley for dinner and overnight stay. our guide will pick you up directly at the riad/hotel, we will head for Ouarzazate, driving through the High Atlas mountains, across the Tizi’n Tichka Pass (2260 metres), from where you can enjoy a spectacular view of Berber villages. we will stop at the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, declared part of UNESCO’s World Cultural Heritage, a beautiful town built in typical Southern Moroccan architecture. We will drive on towards the Dades Valley, which, in spring, bursts with colors and fragrances because of its famous rose cultivations, producing perfumes and essences of world renown. Dinner and overnight accommodation in a hotel.
After having breakfast and admiring the beautiful views of the valley, we will head for the Todra Gorges, a narrow canyon 300m deep, coloured in incredible red-orange hues, a favourite for rock climbing lovers. Once arrived in Erfoud, we can visit the fossil museum, this area being rich in stunning fossils. After a break for lunch, we will continue to Merzouga where the camels will be waiting to take us on a ride to watch the sunset over the dunes, before reaching a Berber – style tented camp. Here you can savour the silence of the desert and, after nightfall, watch the starry sky while sitting by the camp fire. Dinner and overnight accommodation in a tented camp.
After sunrise show among the dunes, and After freshening up and having breakfast, we will hit the road towards Marrakech, driving through Rissani and the Draa Valley with its palm groves as far as the eye can see. We will cross the High Atlas again to be back in Marrakech in the evening, where we will take you to the hotel you have booked for your stay in town.
